A full HDB renovation usually includes design & space planning, hacking & masonry, carpentry, plumbing, electrical works, painting, and project management. You can also choose to renovate just specific areas like kitchen or toilets.

On average:

  • 2-Room BTO: from $15K–$25K
  • 4-Room BTO: from $25K–$35K
  • Resale flats: from $30K–$50K+ depending on hacking and rewiring needs

Timelines vary by flat type and scope:

  • BTO renovations: 6–8 weeks
  • Resale & EM renovations: 8–12 weeks (including hacking, rewiring)

Your ID will provide a full schedule before work begins.

It’s not recommended if you’re doing full works (especially hacking, toilets, kitchen). For partial renovations, it may be possible to stay with minor adjustments, but always check with your ID.

Your interior design firm will handle all necessary HDB renovation permits for hacking, plumbing, electrical, and wet works. You don’t need to worry about the paperwork.
